NAIA GAME OF THE WEEK: No. 1 Fresno Pacific (Calif.) will host No. 2 Concordia (Calif.) on Saturday, Oct. 11 for the NAIA Game of the Week.  The Sunbirds won both matches last year against Concordia.

In other top-25 match ups this week: No. 22 Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) will host No. 17 Indiana Tech on Friday, Oct. 10 and No. 9 Georgetown (Ky.) on Saturday, Oct. 11.  No. 3 California Baptist will travel to No. 4 Biola (Calif.) on Saturday while No. 14 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) will head to No. 8 Vanguard (Calif.).

VIRGINIA-WISE SECOND ANNUAL ‘DIG FOR THE CURE' NIGHT SMASHING SUCCESS: A combined effort of many supporting individuals and three women's volleyball teams made the UVa-Wise Second Annual ‘Dig for the Cure' Night a smashing success.  UVa-Wise teamed up with its rival Virginia Intermont for a night of exciting collegiate volleyball but more importantly raised more than $3,500 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation by a team effort.

ROWLEY EARNS 400TH CAREER VICTORY: Ohio Dominican University head volleyball coach Sandy Rowley earned her 400th career victory on Saturday with a 3-1 victory over Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. 

The Panthers, now 11-9 on the year, got off to a rocky start in their second game of the day dropping the first game 25-21.  ODU used a solid defensive performance and took control of the net as they went on to three straight victories.  Ohio Dominican took the next three games 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 to earn the milestone victory.

Rowley is in her 20th season as they head coach at Ohio Dominican University and has compiled a record of 400-347.

PATEMAN REACHES CAREER MILESTONE: Union College senior volleyball player Stephanie Pateman recorded her 1,500th career kill in Tuesday's 3-0 home victory over Appalachian Athletic Conference foe Tennessee Wesleyan College.

Pateman, a Weyburn, Canada native, pushed her Union career kills record to 1,501 mark behind a match-high 13 kills. She also served four aces.

OCTOBER IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH FOR GPAC VOLLEYBALL: In conjunction with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) numerous Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) volleyball teams will be participating in a month long campaign to raise funds and sponsor awareness events in the fight against breast cancer. Briar Cliff (Iowa) debuted pink uniforms on Tuesday night in their home match against Dakota Wesleyan (S.D.) to "Spike Out Cancer".
