Senior Julie (O'Dell) Griffith, a 6-foot middle blocker from Rogersville, Mo., has been named the Heart of America Athletic Conference hitter of the week. The honor is her second this season. She won the same award on Sept. 22. In the Lady Crusaders' four matches last week, Griffith averaged 4.1 kills and 1.2 blocks per game. She had 126 attack attempts with 19 errors and 62 kills for a kill percentage of 34.1.
Evangel (16-8, 1-2 Heart of America Athletic Conference) resumes conference play today, Oct. 7, at William Jewell in Liberty, Mo. The match begins at 7 p.m. (no jv match). The EU ladies will stay on the road, playing at Benedictine in Atchison, Kans., on Thursday, Oct. 9. The jv match begins at 5:30 and the varsity match follows at 7. The EU volleyball team will then return home to host Missouri Valley on Tuesday, Oct. 14. Match times are 5:30 (jv) and 7 (varsity).
