Embry-Riddle (Fla.) won the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee on Saturday, Sept. 27. The Eagles beat out five NCAA Division I and two NCAA Division II teams in that race. That strong performance jumped Embry-Riddle into the No. 2 ranking in this week's NAIA Men's Cross Country Coaches' Top 25 Poll. The Eagles received a first-place vote in that poll

·         Embry-Riddle's Sam Vazquez was the top individual finisher at the Florida State Invitational, running the course in 25:32.47. That was his third consecutive first place finish

·         There were three new teams in the Top 25 this week. Indiana Wesleyan comes in at No. 18 after a ninth-place finish at the Roy Griac Invitational held in Falcons Height, Minn. Fresno Pacific (Calif.) checks in at No. 19 and Southern Nazarene (Okla.) comes in at No. 22.

·         Malone (Ohio) continued their dominance last week. The nation's No. 1 team won the Loyola Invitational in Chicago. Senior Nik Schweikert won the individual title with a time of 24:49.
