Along the way, Figoni has become part of the Lady Ravens record books as she now holds four major records for BC.
Earlier this season in a match against McKendree University, Figoni became the Lady Ravens all-time goal scorer and in their HAAC opener, she become the Lady Ravens all-time points scorer.

The most prolific scorer in Benedictine College women's soccer history is Sara Figoni.

The senior from Lenexa scored a goal in the 10th minute of Saturday's Heart of America Athletic Conference opener against MidAmerica Nazarene, giving her 123 career points, taking sole possession of the top mark she shared with Tammy Monso (1993-96) going into the match.

"It's not just an individual effort, it's a collaboration with the team," Figoni said. "No goals are scored alone."

Figoni scored the record-breaker off a pass from junior teammate Angeline Finazzo, as the 25th-ranked Lady Ravens beat the Lady Pioneers, 3-0.

The forward now has 11 goals this season to go along with four assists for 26 points.

Figoni has 51 goals and 21 assists in her career.

Figoni, who also holds the career goals mark along with the single-season records for goals and points, did not expect to be rewriting the Benedictine record books when she started her career.

"I just wanted to play college ball," she said. "I wanted to be a part of a team."

Yet another goal reached for Figoni.

Notes: Anne Schafer scored unassisted in the 11th minute to make it 2-0, and Tricia Hutchison capped the scoring in the second half. ... The Ravens also played Saturday as part of Benedictine's family weekend. The BC men also beat MidAmerica Nazarene, 3-1. Steven Whenry scored twice, the second off a pass from Matt Scheipeter, and Sean Lewis added an insurance goal as the Ravens snapped a three-game losing skid. ... Both teams played at Central Methodist on Tuesday.
