May 24, 2008- Lindenwood University's Illiyan Chamov, who was already a two-time NAIA Indoor Triple Jump National Champion, won his first national outdoor title by capturing the 2008 triple jump championship.
In his last jump, Chamov recorded his best mark of the day of 48-11.75. This gave him the gold medal, with the next best mark being 48-7.5.
Also for Lindenwood, Evans Kiptoo and Deji Adebayo earned All-American honors. Kiptoo was runner-up in the 5,000m finals with a time of 14:32.45. Adebayo finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 23-4. Lindenwood also received two points from its 4x100 relay squad which finished seventh in the finals with a time of 41.54.
Lindenwood finished with 24 points and tied for 13th in the team standings at the national outdoor meet.
